The food in this place is delicious and I would recommend it. The service is pretty great but the place only has two waiters. The ambience is great.
stopped by for lunch after a friend recommended pho86! im a sucker for bun bo hue but today i opted for the bun rieu and absolutely loved it. not sure why the dac biet + meat balls is more expensive than the extra large dac biet lol but the pho broth is spot on. usually when a dish is heavy on the fish sauce smell, it turns me off - which was what happened with the bun rieu but its just in the very beginning. you just have to dig in. definitely will come back for the bun bo hue :)
The bathroom is clean, the place is clean, the staff is very funny and friendly. They speak Chinese (Cantonese). The food is great .
Good pho and other vietnamese items but viet sandwiches are the star. Love their sweet grilled chicken viet sandwich and the beef viet sandwich. The bread is crispy, meats are well cooked and fillings are fresh.
Excellent broth. Although I think maybe it took too long to pick up the food. The broth wasn't hot enough to "cook" the beef. Pretty decent spot for pho.
Great neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant. I was in the neighborhood and randomly saw this place so decided to check it out. It's a no frills sit down restaurant, they gave me complimentary hot tea which is appreciated! Food was great, got pho, summer rolls, and a beef dish (I'm forgetting the name of). The entire total came to be like $30 total so for nyc it's a pretty good deal Definitely recommend! Check out my food instagram: @Alice.likes.food
I am a huge fan of pho and is something I could eat almost every day, even in the summer. Went for lunch on a weekday and it was not busy. Ordered the extra large pho, the bun rieu and a banh xeo. The banh xeo was crispy, nothing special. I was not a fan of the pho broth. It was lacking flavor, but it had a lot of different meats. The bun rieu, on the other hand, was really good. The broth of the bun rieu had a rich seafood taste, very flavorful.
I think pho 86 is growing on us bc we like their soup now and their meats are great now too. Workers are nice and theyre busy, and the pho is phenomenal depending on which day you come, its mostly random tho. Like yesterday the spring roll were extra crispy and light and tasted amazing. Banh Cuon is also great but it's limited bc we tried ordering yesterday nd the table next to us took the last order so very sad bois.
Typical pho spot. I got the regular pho but regular size for $11 and it had a lot less stuff than I was expecting. I am used to ordering the large pho for $2 more but I wasn't very hungry today. The flavor is still good though. The beef cubes over rice had a surprisingly good amount of beef and it was tasty. Beef was a bit tough but the flavor makes up for it. Fast and nice service. They accept credit cards and cash.
There's nothing like a hot warm bowl of soup on a cold night. We had just arrived from JFK and it was late, so we were limited on the pho restaurants that were still open at 10pm. I am very glad they open late, which is clutch. I thought it was interesting that all the employees spoke Chinese, but this is a Vietnamese restaurant. Despite that, the soup is authentic and delicious. They also have complimentary tea for the table. We also got the Pork and Veggie Spring Roll ($6.50), which was a bit disappointing. The pork didn't taste great and I only finished it because I was hungry. For my soup, I ordered the Bun Bo Hue ($12) while he got the Pho ($10). The spices in the soup is so savory with a nice kick. I would definitely come back for the bun bo hue here. Plus, the service was quick and attentive too. Great spot for affordable and delicious Viet food.
